This is an important update if you own and rent out your property for holidays in Spain. New rules are in place for tourist rentals from the third of April 2025.
Firstly, you now need approval from your community owners and at least 60 percent must say yes before you can rent to tourists. Secondly you can now expect up to 20 percent higher community fees. This is to cover extra wear and tear and any disturbances. Thirdly, the community president can now immediately stop unauthorised rentals. If you are already renting before this date, you are protected under the old rules.
